Habitat:
Salmon are born in fresh water then move to live in salt water. They can be found in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans as well as the inland lakes, like the Great Lakes.
Food:
Young salmon eat insects, invertebrates, and plankton. Adults eat other fish.
Laying Eggs:
Salmon return to streams and rivers where they were born and lay their eggs there.
Catching Salmon:
Cast your line upriver and let it flow with the river's current.
Cooking Salmon:
I like it best a little red inside with capers and lemon butter sauce. They are also good as salmon burgers with mayonnaise, pickles, tomatoes, and ketchup.
Alex's Thoughts on Salmon:
I think they are delicious! They are easy to catch, but I've never tried to catch them in fresh water.
